Forbes Park, which is located in Makati City, is the number one most expensive and most luxurious village in the Philippines. It was named after an investment banker turned American Governor-General, William Cameron Forbes. He’s father was the president of the Bell Telephone Company, William Hathaway Forbes.
Forbes Park was established in 1940, making it one of the oldest community in Makati. It occupies 250 hectares of prime land.
The village was divided into parts; Forbes Park South & Forbes Park North. McKinley Road is the dividing line between the North & South, and is bounded by the following landmarks:
- Northwest: Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA)
- East: Bonifacio Global City (BGC)
- South: Maricaban Creek
- West: Dasmariñas Village
In 2010, it was recorded that Forbes Park had 2,533 residents, housing .49% of the Makati City’s wealthiest families.
Forbes Park takes the honor of being the very first gated-community created by the Ayala Corporation. Within the vicinity of Forbes Park are the famous Manila Polo Club & Manila Golf and Country Club.
For the convenience of all Forbes Park residents, a Franciscan church called Santuario de San Antonio & an Anglican-Episcopal Pro-cathedral were built and the San Antonio Plaza commercial center was established. Being the eco-friendly community that it is, Forbes Park have been the home of hundred-year old Acacia trees.
